If you have a question about the tool, run into a technical problem, or want to suggest an improvement, you can write to us at the address below. We read everything, though we cannot promise an immediate answer.
Several questions come up often enough that the answer is already on the site, and you may get what you need faster there.
The scan reports a page that works in my browser. This is almost always a server blocking automated requests, a page behind a login, or a response slower than the timeout. The FAQ explains each case.
Part of my site was not scanned. A crawler can only reach pages that something links to. Orphan pages are invisible to it. This is covered in the FAQ and in the glossary.
I do not know what to do with an entry in the report. Our guide on fixing 404 errors gives a decision process for each type of broken address, with the rules to write.
I do not understand a status code. The reference page lists every code you are likely to encounter and what it means for your site.
I reached the daily limit. Each visitor is allowed 20 scans per 24 hours. The limit resets on its own, there is nothing to request.
Reporting a problem
If you write about something that did not work, the address you scanned and a description of what you expected to see will let us reproduce the problem much faster than a general description. If the scan stopped unexpectedly, mentioning how many pages had been processed is also useful.
